How do I sign up to be member if I don’t have a credit card?
We suggest using a debit card (most banks offer these if you have an account) instead. We will be adding internet banking soon.
do we have to pay to join this?
Yes – if you want to join as an actor. However, there is a 1 month free trial – so just join up for free and see if it suits.
I am a mature older person who loves acting. I did several stage stints a long time ago when I was lots younger. Recently I have been doing acting classes. Are there character parts for someone my age?
There are parts for everyone of all ages and races. So just go ahead – join under Actors Annual subscription (it’s free for the first month) – check out the auditions and put up a good profile with good photos. If you can act – there is work!
If I’m 18 and I want to join the Acting line how do I go about?
You can take acting classes – either at Centre Stage School of the Arts (part time) or at Lasalle (full time). Then take some headshots (photos) and get yourself onto AADB. Put up a profile on AADB with your photos and start submitting yourself to auditions. The more you do the better you get. And keep working on your acting – do classes as many as you can.
can i get to film mediacorp channel 8 drama if i join this?
Is there modelling casting?
Yes there is – but most of it is acting work.
There are sometimes auditions for channel 8 but mostly for channel 5.
Do we have to be Singaporean or permanent resident to become member?
No, anyone can join – many artists in Singapore are foreigners. Do make sure you’re allowed to work here legally though.
Does AADB only have auditions for local productions? Or overseas ones too?

No qualifications required – all new comers are welcome.
You can join AADB and start auditioning. However, you will need your parents to help you join. Do read the pages on how to join to get more info about how it all works.
There are local and overseas auditions. But mostly local.
Channel 8 does sometimes select actors from AADB.
I’m 20 and I’m Singaporean-Indian, and I’m, hopefully, looking to score a role in Channel 5, thing is that I have written a Pilot for a drama series that I believe can do well, I’m multi-billingual as well, I speak English, Tamil, Spanish, basic Malay and French. What’s your advice?
You may want to join under ACTORS ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION – it’s a free trial for a month – so just try it and get to some auditions. Having many languages is a big plus.
