Q: How do I SUBMIT MY PROFILE to an audition notice?

Q: Once I have selected a membership plan, which categories can I post my profile in?
A: You should select the membership plan applicable to your needs. Directors should choose "Directors Subscription" and Actors should choose "Actors Subscription". Actors should add their profile to the appropriate actor category: "Male Adult", "Female Adult", or "Male Teen" etc...
Directors, Casting Agents, Producers and Production Companies can place their profile in the appropriate category (Production Company, Producer, Director or Casting Agent) but they can also add Audition postings in the AUDITION category.

Q: I'm having trouble logging in, what should I do?
A: Your login name is your EMAIL and not your user ID - so make sure you use your full email address. Also both the login ID and password are CASE SENSITIVE. So make certain that you exactly retype what you input as your login email and password. If you're still having trouble clear your cache and try again (clear cache is usually in your browser preferences).

Q: I still have trouble logging in- despite using the correct ID and Password.
A: If you have Norten's Internet Security or a Firewall program - it may be that this is blocking information getting back to our site. You may need to set your preferences to allow or PERMIT our site. There is an explanation at the following page: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/735050b77b1fcece88256bc7005c3bc6/b9b47ad7eddd343b88256c6b006a85a8

Q: What if I don't have professional photos?
A: Professional photos are almost a necessity for actors. It is not expensive to get a basic set that can be used for quite a few years. Every actor needs at least a professional B&W Headshot. Our Photo Package is very reasonable and will get you 4 professional photos including a headshot. Please contact us to organise this. Or sign up for the Action/Photo package and we will arrange the rest.

Q: What sort of photos should I upload?
A: It is a requirement of AADB that the first photo is an industry standard, black & white headshot. If you do not have one please contact us - we can help you organise one. The other photos should be professionally taken and show a variety of looks and help to define your physicality. But please no nudity or swimwear.

Q: What photos should prouduction companies upload?
A: Production companies should upload their logo as their first photo - this will appear next to their name in searches and the details page. Subsequent photos can include the directors or staff.

Q: I tried to upload my photos but it seems to just hang and doesn't update.
A: Sometimes if your photos are too large your upload time might be too long and the server "times out". Try resizing each photo first to less than 150kb (usually by resizing the largest dimension to 500px whist maintaining proportions) and upload them one at a time. Even if you don't know how to resize photos - just upload them one at a time - in other words after you have chosen the first photo click "update". Then do the next photo and so on.

Q: Is there a particular size for photos?
A: Yes, the optimum size for photos is about 400x500 pixels and less than 150kb each. Please try to limit photo sizes to these specifications. However, if your photo is larger than this - we will automatically resize it. If you are resizing photos in an editing program just choose the largest dimension as 500 px and you should be fine. ie the max pixels for width OR height is 500px.

Q: I tried to upload a jpg but it was rejected: "not a valid image file".
A: We accept jpegs, jpg, gif, tif and png files. Some image files may have a jpg extension but are actually a different format like gif89a. If you have problems try resaving the image file to gif or png format in photoshop or graphic convertor. If you have further problems please contact us.

Q: Who should register under the categories "Newcomer M" and "Newcomer F"?
A: These categories are for actors with little or no experience. Starting off in these categories may actually increase visibility since producers, directors and casting agents are often looking for new faces. Of course you can change the category at a later date. For example, as your CV or Bio grows you may want to join the main section of actors eg, "Male Adult" or "Female Adult". Just go to "Edit Profile" and change your category.

Q: What does HIDDEN or BLIND email mean?
A: If you choose to leave the EMAIL field blank in your profile - then users can still email you by using the SEND MESSAGE function at the top of your profile. This will be emailed to your LOGIN EMAIL - but will remain hidden from view.

Q: How do I edit my profile?

Q: What are the extra options and how do I add them?
A: In "My Account" page you can click on [R] "Renew or Add Extra Options" - this allows you to purchase FEATURED or PRIORITY RANKING options. "Featured" means your photo will appear on the browse page and will cycle with other photos in the 'featured' box on the left column. 'Priority Ranking' increases your ranking in any search or browse funtion. It's like appearing in the top two pages of google. So if someone searches for Males with Black Hair - and you fit that criteria - you will appear at or near the top of the list.

Q: How do I use SAVED SEARCHES?
A: Do any advanced search and after clicking on SEARCH - you will see "Save this Search" above the results. Click on this and you will be prompted to name the SEARCH. Type in a name for future reference and click "OK". This search is now saved under SAVED SEARCHES and you can click on it any time to search the profiles again using all your specified criteria.

Q: How do I use AUTO NOTIFY?
A: Go to your saved searches. You will notice a check box "Notify me by Email". If you check this box - the system will do a search for you daily to find any profiles that match your SAVED SEARCH criteria and notify you by Email. This is perfect if you don't ever want to miss an Audition. Just do an Advanced Search for Auditions. Save the Search and then click "Notify me by Email". You should receive an email everytime a new audition is posted.
